Niaron Ltd. are a multi-disciplinary civil engineering and utilities contractor operating nationwide in the public and private sector with offices located in Limerick and Ashbourne, Co. Meath. We have several long-standing clients providing repeat business and we have experienced significant growth in the past 5 years, we are looking to recruit a Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Graduate in the Greater Dublin Region. The Role
The HSEQ Graduate role reporting to the regional HSEQ Officer will be based in our newly refurbished Ashbourne Office and will be required to cover work locations in the Greater Dublin Region. The HSEQ Graduate will be responsible for supporting the HSEQ Officer which includes strict management of all health, safety, environment and quality procedures and day to day support of the various projects in the region.
As a HSEQ professional you are required to have a good knowledge of the relevant legislation and understanding of civil engineering and utility operations including a good knowledge of underground electrical networks, this should underpin an understanding of the requirements and needs of our extremely successful business unit. The role will require the candidate to assist in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment on all our construction and utility sites.

The duties of the HSEQ Officer include:
- Conduct safety inspections and audits across the assigned region.
- Assist in the preparation of reports on occurrences and prepare statistical information.
- Implement the company’s health, safety, environmental and quality policy, procedures, and management systems.
- Assist in the recording of Health & Safety KPIs to help drive improvement in all related matters.
- Support the HSEQ team in the development of H&S procedures, policies, and programmes.
- Work as part of the HSQE team to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
- Always seek to improve the standard of Health & Safety in a practical manner within the company management system and on specific sites.
- Monitor and implementation of Health & Safety Integrated Management System.
- Identify site specific hazards and ensure they are addressed in the site documentation and in a practical manner on the site.
- Ensure clear lines of communication are maintained.
- Ensure statutory records are being maintained.
- Enforce strict adherence to site rules by all.
- Assist site management to comply with statutory Health & Safety requirements.
- Assist HSEQ team to develop and implement Risk Assessments including improvements to the Safe Systems of Work.
- Assist HSEQ team and Site management to coordinate the safe systems of work for all.
- Carry out H&S auditing on site and address non-conformances as they are identified with site management and subcontractors.
- Identify training needs on site for personnel and contractors.
- Ad hoc tasks as needed by the wider business
Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications
- Good knowledge of HSEQ requirements.
- Recognised third level Health, Safety Qualification i.e., BSc in Health and Safety.
- Highly proficient with computers, IT systems and Microsoft Office.
- Organised and capable of supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence Safety performance.
- Ability to communicate with peers both written and verbal.
- Willing to work as part of a team.
- A basic understanding of the civil engineering and utilities business.
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in a similar role
